Welcome Núria Franco-Guillén

I’m delighted to welcome Dr Núria Franco-Guillén who has joined the National Conversation Project as Project Specialist, based with me in the Centre for Governance and Public Policy at Griffith .

Dr Franco-Guillén holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. Her research interest focus on territorial and multilevel politics and diversity studies, and she has expertise in computer-assisted qualitative research. Her thesis, defended in November 2015, won Best Dissertation award at Pompeu Fabra, and explores the link between two modes of diversity, immigration and stateless nationalism, in the context of Catalonia, Quebec and Scotland. She has been visiting fellow at the University of Edinburgh and the Université du Quebec a Montréal, and a postdoctoral researcher at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Dr Franco-Guillén has also worked as adjunct professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where she has taught Introduction to Political Science, Qualitative Research Techniques at the BA in Political Science, and supervised BA and Master Students (Immigration Studies).

On the National Conversations project Núria will be leading the Scottish case research, assisting with developing the new electronic argument tracking techniques, and will be managing project communications, among other things.
